I have all this cotton yarn, but I wasn't sure how they'd look all together. I am going to wrap them as a warp for my floor loom, but let me just be frank and say that's a lot of work and there was no way I was going to do all that work if I wasn't sure the colors would look the way I wanted them to look. I was particularly suspicious of the orange one.
So I used the colors to make this little bag, as a test run, and I have to say...it's exactly what I hoped it would be! I wanted this sort of caribbean tip, and I think it came together well.
It's certainly not what I would call 'an everyday' bag, but I think it's got a little pizzazz, a little limbo to it, and that's what I'm going for here.
I am sending this bag to Beatta, who sent me that luscious fabric in her give away last month. I had hoped to find a babushka doll fabric for the lining, to go with her adorable crafty-offerings, but alas, it was not to be. The only ones I found were on Etsy, from Japan, and the shipping was a bit prohibitive, so instead I found what I think is a pretty cute mushroom fabric. I am hopeful that she'll love these colors; I know I thought of her immediately when I saw the purse coming together!
It's better made at home
